I am not a fair weather, sunrise/sunset photographer but one who looks for the special in the ordinary. I love fog and fabulous light but the joy comes from spending time with the camera where I am. My images range from macro floral portraits to landscape to cityscapes including the world of the homeless.
The best moments as a photographer are seeing something special, something hidden from casual view, or found in plain sight but highlighted wondrously in light. Those moments become ecstatic when my camera captures them and I can show them to others. Frequently, sitting on the little stool I carry, compositions are found that would have been missed. The slower pace provides time to gain a sense of the place, appreciate the scene, and find that special moment.
After using a variety of cameras and equipment, I reduced the weight and amount of items to carry. Now I photograph primarily with a Leica M10 Monochrome camera and for color a Leica M10 R. I rarely use a tripod. My lenses are all primary and very lightweight - one can see better when the seeing is the focus and not a wide variety of equipment.
I have been photographing since 2014 and exhibiting in local and national galleries since 2016. Several prints have earned juror recognition and gallery awards.
